How Domestic Burglar Alarms Work

The most traditional way of ensuring home security is by leashing a dog or placing a dog sign outside your home. In a way, domestic burglar alarms are similar to your dogs. These security devices are friendly to their owners and they are hostile to intruders – just like your dog.

Domestic Burglar Alarms – A Reminiscence of the Old Ways

Your dog wags its tail when it sees you. On the other hand, if he sees a stranger or an intruder, he would start barking loudly. This barking then alerts you of intrusions or threats to your home. In fact, the danger may not come from a person. Dogs bark when they see other dangers. They warn their owners of fire or health scares as well – just like a security alarm.

This comparison has probably not occurred to you, but domestic burglar alarms really work like dogs. Accordingly, they also need to be placed correctly. Presumably, you would place your dog somewhere where you think an intruder can enter. In the same manner, you would also fit your doors, windows and other vulnerable entryways with sensors.

Dogs respond to danger by barking. Sensing or seeing possible threats triggers them to respond. In the same way, domestic burglar alarms are triggered by threats and intrusions as well. In truth, you can always opt for a dog. However, many people still prefer installing security devices inside their homes because there are so many things that these devices can do that their dogs can’t.

For instance, you can attach a security device to your telephone. You can program your domestic burglar alarms to page you or call you every time they triggered by intrusions. You can get your device to directly alert the police or the fire department. Of course, the more high-tech your device is the more expensive it is. Still, it requires less management than a dog which needs to be bathe, fed and walk. You can always get a dog, however, for a companion.

Placing Your Domestic Burglar Alarms

Now, if you have decided to purchase domestic burglar alarms, you need to make sure that you place the sensors strategically. You need to place them in vulnerable places in your home. If you have a big kitchen window where you think an intruder can fit through, then place a sensor there. You should also make sure that your siren is placed somewhere where it can freely make a sound whenever it is triggered. Ideally, your neighbors should also be able to hear the alarm when it goes off.

Domestic burglar alarms are fairly similar to dogs. However, the former is always a better choice when it comes to home protection and security.
