How does the wireless burglar alarm work? When motion is detected, radio waves are sent from the sensors to the control panel. They are usually installed in doors and windows so that a warning is sounded off when burglars are detected inside or close to the house. There are two types of methods of detection. One is thru magnetic contacts, wherein one piece is connected to the door or window and the other piece is connected to the frame. The alarm goes off when the two magnetic contacts are disconnected by opening doors or windows. The second method of detection is with the use of invisible infrared sensors which detects motion by changes in temperature brought about by a person’s body heat. Owners then hold the keypad which allows for easy activation and deactivation of their wireless burglar alarm systems.
Wireless burglar alarm systems can be used standalone or in combination with wired alarm systems. The multi-zone control panel that comes with the more sophisticated wireless burglar alarm systems allows for more flexible usage. This system lets you make exits through other doors and allows you to specify a dedicated alarm zone which is great for protecting doors, garages and sheds at night. It can be set up such that entry and exit beeps are activated. A test mode may also be activated to check detectors so that you can be assured that the product is doing its job well. For added protection, a smoke detection alarm may also be added.
